Visit the last untouched gray whale nursery
For years, NRDC and our local partners have been buying up the development rights around Laguna San Ignacio on Mexico’s Baja peninsula in order to permanently protect our planet's last pristine gray whale nursery. Now you have a chance to visit this historic project first-hand. Traveling with an experienced local guide, gift recipients will set out in small boats called "pangas" in order to encounter friendly whale mothers and their calves up close. They'll also tour the enchanting desert ecosystem around the whale's lagoon, including local schools where students are taught the value of protecting the nursery. Read a personal account of this extraordinary trip.
(Trip to lagoon is 5 days/4 nights. Transportation to San Diego where trip originates is not included.)
